Glashtyn (Water Horse) Stud Earrings
Description
Introducing the Glashtyn Earrings, inspired by the mysterious shapeshifter of Manx folklore. This pendant captures the essence of the legendary water-horse, a creature known to haunt the island’s coastal waters.
Crafted with a flowing, wave-like design, the earrings hints at the Glashtyn’s dual nature – both a horse of the sea and a figure cloaked in shadow when ashore. He appears as a water-horse (also known as a Cabbyl Ushtey), its head being that of a horse in the sea amongst the waves, and then transforms to a bedraggled yet handsome gentleman in a long dripping wet hooded coat when he comes ashore. Despite the transformation to human form, he doesn’t quite manage to convert his horse ears, which he hides under his hood!
A piece that brings Manx folklore to life, the Glashtyn earrings are perfect for those who love the island’s rich traditions and its deep connection to the sea.
